I’ve only recently jumped into the organic skincare bandwagon because of the many rave reviews I’d been seeing from my youtube guru friends on Michael Todd True Organics. On a whim, I bought the Honey& Oat Cleanser and the Charcoal Detox. I really enjoyed these products but I left it in Canada, thereby leaving a small hole in my life.
I decided to try a couple new things – one being their Kaolin Clay Detoxifying Facial Mask. So the product feels a little strange on the skin, it feels really wet on the touch and hardens a little less than other masks, almost gel-like. The picture above is my skin after first use (please ignore my dark circles) and from first impression, I would say it does a nice job in sucking out the dirt from under my pores and brightening up my skin. Another additional benefit, my face does feel less oily the next day after use so this will (for now) find a place in my skincare rotation. The one thing that is holding me back is the awful smell. It smells like peppermint in the tube but once its dried on the skin it smells like dirty drain water and lingers. Right now I would call this a good mid-week mask and one that is good for maintenance, but is not a miracle product like my GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment (which is my holy grail product).
Just a disclaimer, I used this mask with my dry-skinned friend and her face started tingling and the mask really dried her out, so for this one, do listen to the instructions.
