My Favourite New Things

Haul 1I’ve been on quite a spendy streak recently and hauled a few things from Zara, H&M as well as drugstore beauty.

I went a little wild in Zara and picked up quite a few things but my favourite has got to be the oversized denim jacket (pictured). I get such a sense of satisfaction whenever I rip a tag off a new piece of clothing (though in the inverse happens when I unbox a beauty item). Am I alone in this or do you all get that same rush of adrenaline?

I picked up two things from H&M – an almost floor length sheer robe (the checkered back piece) and a floral cami (also pictured). I was really tempted to also snack up a few pieces of jewelry but thankfully managed to stop myself.

Next stop I headed to the drugstore where I picked up the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in No5 Candy Shimmer after hearing rave reviews from essiebutton, Viviannadoesmakeup and heyclaire. It gives such a beautiful natural but slightly glassy finish with the most subtle shimmer on the lips. It also gives your lips a plumping/ juicy effect which makes it perfect for day-dates.

Last but not least, I picked up a notebook from katespade as I had left all of mine in Hong Kong when I flew over to Toronto last week and had nowhere but loose napkins to jot down notes on the go. Plus the quote reminded me of that fantastic Beyoncé song “Drunk in Love” – “Hold up, that D’ussé is the shit if I do say so myself, if I do say so myself” – I wanted to also pick up a few beautiful looking watercolour rose notebooks by Isaac Mizrahi but that would have been even more over the top on top of all the stationary I hauled from Coles.
