For the duration of July I had mostly been in Toronto so it really got me thinking about what I really did love in my collection and who made the cut. Quite naturally, I strayed towards the nuder makeup and forgot a lot of my favourites (I missed my Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation and my perfumes desperately). Still, it was great rediscovering a couple of things that I have neglected and/or didn’t have access to in Hong Kong.
No City for Slow Men by Jason Ng: I’m rather late on the bandwagon to this book but it is one that is made up of a series of loose essays that details th quirks and quintessential things that make Hong Kong such a dynamic city. A great leisurely read for those who want to know more about its history and what it’s become today.
Benefit “That Gal” Face Primer: One of my favourite primers that I had forgotten about until recently. Makeup does not budge when you have this underneath. Perfect for hot summer days when you want to cake on the makeup (in a good way).
Shiseido Eyelash Curler: I use this almost every time I use mascara. A simple no fuss mascara which really goes well with the curve of my eye
Hourglass Femme Nude Stylo in No.2 Honey Beige: Such a classic movie-star nude. It is the ultimate JLo peach but make sure you exfoliate before using it as the formula is quite drying.
Clinique High Impact Mascara : Hands down the va-va-voom mascara you need for a touch of glamour in the evening or a low maintenance day.
Clarins Instant Lip Perfector : I believe that Clarins products in general don’t get enough hype but this lipgloss is hands down the most underrated beauty product of all time. It gives the perfect amount of gloss without really glooping on your lips (it feels like you have nothing on) – so even if some kissing is going on, you won’t have to worry about getting it all over their face.
