Afternoon Tea @ Kai Tak Cruise Terminal

DSC01677It was the perfect ending to a perfectly lazy Sunday afternoon. The Kai Tak Cruise Terminal is a new place that I have been frequenting in the last couple of months. A great, spacious place to really relax and just take a walk amongst the greenery, without feeling claustrophobic.

Obviously, in terms of location, I wouldn’t say this is the most convenient of places. Unless you drive, or know someone who drives you will need to figure out a way to get there. (Unless you’re feeling really brave and are willing to run on or bike on the long strip of pavement that extends into the airport’s old runway)DSC01679There are a few eateries I have tried out there so far, all of which did not leave a particularly strong impression. But I must say the view from there is pretty spectacular, so I’m willing to pay a premium for that. The place I am going to be briefly talking about is the Plaza Café down by Zone A (ie. where all of the duty-free shops are located). The tea set was quite impressive: filled to the brim with pastries, savouries and desserts, however was at an extortionate price (again, I’m totally willing to pay for a good view but this pretty much looks out into a walkway). That being said, you should definitely try their fish n’ chips (delish!) and tiramisu. Everything else on there is pretty much forgettable. One drawback is that the staff do get confused quite easily (at least in the three times I have been back) and keeps getting confused by my order. Nonetheless, it wasn’t a bad experience because the environment was pleasant and was remote enough to be peacefully quiet. Would definitely recommend to people who are stressed out in the city but do not feel like going too far to get away from it all
